The Location - Seville, Spain

Seville is located in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula, in the heart of the autonomous region of Andalusia.

The capital of Andalusia, Seville is the fourth largest city in Spain with a population of over 700.000 within its metropolitan area. Seville is considered the artistic, cultural, financial, economic and social centre of southern Spain and is one of the most well known Spanish cities abroad, due in great part, to its distinctive character.

Seville is situated just 6 meters above sea level on the banks of the Guadalquivir River and is surrounded by the towns of Aljarafe, Las Marismas (salt marshes), the Doñana National Park and the Sierra Norte and Sierra Sur mountains. Seville has a Mediterranean climate with close to 3,000 hours of sunlight annually. The average temperatures are 26º C in the summer and 12º C in the winter. The autumn experiences balmy temperatures and only a low risk of rain – making this a perfect time to study in Seville.

Numerous and varied cultures have been present in Seville's history and have left their footprints in the city with there being a host of interesting civil and religious buildings spread in the town. The Giralda, the Cathedral, the Archivo de Indias and the Alcazar were declared all World Heritage by UNESCO.

The Venue - Sevilla Global

IETA/Focus-Abengoa has been invited by Sevilla Global to stage its Initiative in Carbon Training at its excellent facilities. This demonstration of support for the Initiative by Sevilla Global is warmly welcomed by IETA and Focus-Abengoa.

Sevilla Global is the Urban Agency for Economic Development of Seville City Council, which aims to develop a new local public strategy in urban economy and business development and the organisation actively supports initiatives which promote business and the revitalisation of industrial land.

This modern, well equipped venue boasts excellent facilities for the Initiative including a luxurious auditorium with state of the art audiovisual equipment, small ‘classrooms’ and a Business Centre amply equipped with computers ensuring continuous internet access to attendees throughout the event.
